Christian India โ€” 2000 Years of Faith

St. Thomas, one of Jesus Christ's twelve apostles, sailed to India in 52 AD and established the first Christian communities on the Malabar coast of Kerala. India's Christian heritage is among the oldest in the world.

Christianity in India โ€” Before Europe Knew It

St. Thomas arrived in Kerala in 52 AD โ€” centuries before Christianity spread through most of Europe. He established 7 churches, performed miracles, and was martyred in Chennai in 72 AD. His tomb โ€” San Thome Basilica โ€” is one of only 3 churches in the world built over an apostle's tomb.
